Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 3, 2026
Venbit (Venbit LLC, “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy covers three different situations, and it is worth knowing which one you are in:
- You are visiting our website or using one of our free tools or forms.
- You hold a Venbit account and use Venbit Web Intelligence on the web or in the Venbit iOS app.
- You visited a website that uses Venbit Web Intelligence. In that case the site owner decides what is collected and why. We only hold it for them, and the section below about that is the one that applies to you.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you fill out a contact form, request a quote, book a call, or use a tool on our site (such as the website checkup or SEO report), we collect details like your name, email address, phone number, business name, website URL, and any message you send.
- Account information. If you create a Venbit account we store your email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your email address and a provider account identifier from them, and nothing else. We never see or store your Google or Apple password. If you use Apple’s private relay address, that relay address is all we get.
- Information collected automatically on our own site. Standard log and analytics data: approximate location, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring URLs, and similar usage information.
The Venbit iOS app
The app is a window onto the same account and the same numbers as the website. It stores your sign-in on the device in the iOS Keychain, along with the sites your account has and the display preferences you set.
- If you turn on notifications, we store the device token Apple gives us so alerts can reach your phone. Turning notifications off, signing out, or deleting the app ends that.
- The app contains no advertising or third-party tracking SDKs. It does not use the advertising identifier, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not ask for your contacts, photos, microphone, or precise location.
- Signing in with Google or Apple opens a system browser sheet, so your password is typed to the provider and never to us.
Visitors to our customers' websites
When a business adds Venbit Web Intelligence to its website, we record visits on that business’s behalf. They decide what is measured and why; we are the processor and act on their instructions. What gets recorded for each visit is:
- Pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth, clicks, and form interactions.
- Referring URL, campaign tags, and ad click identifiers where present.
- Browser, operating system, and device type.
- Approximate location: country, region, and city. Never a street address.
- A random identifier generated in the browser, so the same person’s pages join up into one visit.
Venbit Web Intelligence is cookieless. It sets no advertising cookies, follows nobody between different websites, and builds no cross-site profile. The random identifier is stored in the browser’s own storage for that one site.
We do not store raw IP addresses against visits. An IP address reaches our server the way it reaches every web server; we use it in the moment to work out the approximate location, to rate-limit abuse, and to compute an irreversible salted hash that keeps a returning visitor from being counted as a stranger. The address itself is not written to the visit record. The one exception is when a site owner blocks a visitor: we then keep the addresses that block was seen from, purely to keep enforcing it.
If you visited a site using Venbit and want your data removed, ask that site’s owner, since the data is theirs. You can also opt out of Venbit Web Intelligence on any site by setting vb_optout to 1 in that site’s browser storage, and by turning on “Do Not Track” in your browser, which we honor.
How we use information
- To respond to your inquiries, send quotes, and provide the services you request.
- To run your account, show you your analytics, and send the alerts you ask for.
- To run, secure, and improve our website, our app, and the tools on them.
- To send service-related messages, and marketing emails you can opt out of at any time.
- To meet legal, accounting, and security obligations.
We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use our customers’ visitor data for advertising or resell it in any form.
Cookies on our own website
Our marketing website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences and measure traffic, and we may use third-party analytics and advertising services, including Google Analytics and Google Ads, which set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how parts of the site work. This is separate from Venbit Web Intelligence, which as described above is cookieless.
Who else touches your data
We share information only with providers who help us run the service, and only as much as they need:
- Supabase and Vercel for database and hosting.
- Mailgun for account and notification email.
- Apple Push Notification service for alerts to the iOS app.
- Google and Apple when you choose to sign in with them.
- OpenAI for the tools that write or summarize, using only what that tool needs.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users, or the public.
How long we keep it
Account information is kept while your account is open. Analytics data is kept while the site is on an open account. Inquiries and correspondence are kept as long as we need them for the purpose they were sent for, or as long as the law requires, then deleted or anonymized.
Deleting your account and your data
You can close your Venbit account yourself, at any time, without asking us:
- In the iOS app: Settings → Account → Delete account.
- On the web: open Settings from your analytics dashboard at venbit.com/analytics.
Deletion is immediate and permanent. It removes your sign-in, every website on the account, and all of the visitor history collected for those websites. We keep no archive and nothing can be restored afterwards. You can also email us at info@venbit.com and we will do it for you.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any message. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under laws such as the CCPA or the GDPR, including the right not to be treated differently for exercising them. We honor valid requests and do not charge for them. Write to info@venbit.com.
If you are asking about data collected on a website that uses Venbit Web Intelligence, we will pass your request to that site’s owner, since the data is theirs to decide about.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards: encrypted connections throughout, passwords stored only as hashes, sign-in credentials held in the iOS Keychain on your device, and database access limited by row-level rules so one account cannot read another’s data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to address any issue promptly.
Children's privacy
Our website, app, and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, write to info@venbit.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above, and we will tell account holders directly about changes that matter. Significant changes will be made clear on this page.
